Wessington Springs Office
Fred started Krohmer Agency Inc. in 1989 on Wessington Springs Main street. In 1992 there was a fire that destroyed the Main Street location. The office was rebuilt in its current location on Wallace Ave. In 2004, the Krohmer's purchased Gerhard Agency in Plankinton and White Lake. Fred has extensive knowledge in crop, farm, home, auto, health & life. Fred enjoys working with his customers on insurance solutions that make sense for their everyday life.
Fred is an active member of the Wessington Springs community. He has served on the Hospital Advisory Board, a current Jerauld County Commissioner, Pheasants Forever and the Community Revolving Loan Advisory Board. He has served on the Wessington Springs Area Development Board, the Wessington Springs Township Board. He also volunteers for Jerauld County 4-H and is supporter of 4-H achievement days in Jerauld and Aurora County. Fred also spends his fall months guiding pheasant hunters from around the country at the lodge he owns with Dan Kruse.
Fred and his wife Jan live on a farm south of Wessington Springs where they raise livestock and farm. They have three children Kali (Justin), Betsy (Eric) and Jake (Greta). They have three grandchildren Charlee, Cooper & Jayden. In their spare time they enjoy livestock shows with their kids and traveling
Jan started at the Agency when it opened in 1989, and continued to work part time until 2005 when she retired from teaching instrumental music to work full time at the Agency. Jan has many years of experience in life and health insurance as well as property and casualty lines of insurance. Jan currently specializes in health insurance including group health and Medicare Coverages, along with being one of the travel agents in the agency. Additionally, she looks after and keeps up with all of the books and manages the business end of the Agency.
Jan is a very active member of the Wessington Springs community as she serves as the choir director for the Wessington Springs United Methodist Church as well as choir director for the Wessington Springs Community Choir, she is also a former member of the Huron Symphony Orchestra (where she has served as principal Flutist for the past 30 years) and the Huron Municipal Band. She also enjoys volunteering to help the local 4-H clubs. Jan also occasionally teaches private music lessons.
Jan enjoys gardening, reading, traveling, riding horse, and spending time with family and friends.
Betsy Krohmer joined the Krohmer Agency, Inc. team in April 2013 after graduating from South Dakota State University in December 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science and minors in Agricultural Business, Agricultural Marketing, and Business. She is licensed in property and casualty, life and health, and crop insurance, and spends most of her time in the Wessington Springs office, although she is occasionally the floater, floating to all three of the offices when needed.
Betsy enjoys traveling and has actually been to 15 different countries, additionally she enjoys any and all things adventure related from white water rafting to bungee jumping she is not afraid to try anything once.
Betsy and her fiancé Eric Schroeder live in Wessington Springs, and are planning an October 2018 wedding. In her spare time Betsy enjoys volunteering as an EMT with the Jerauld County Ambulance and helping with local 4-H events.
Customer Service Representative
Joan Hoefert-Jensen began working at Krohmer Agency in 1995. She services the crop insurance and property/casualty lines. Joan feels customer service and ensuring the customer has the proper coverage for their needs is a number one priority.
Joan and her husband Steve live on a farm south of Wessington Springs. Joan enjoys sewing, yard work, riding horses and spending time with her family. Joan has two daughters: Becki (Brandon) granddaughters Haleigh and Raeleigh. Cristin (Jason) grandchildren Hadley and Finley. And three stepchildren: Sandy (Melinda) grandchildren Sawyer and baby girl. Terry (Sarah) grandchildren Tesa, Tristan, Landon and Lauren. Michelle (Dave) grand-daughters Kaitlyn, Kaeleigh and Kenleigh.
Joan is a member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Plankinton and secretary/treasurer of the women’s LWML Circle.
Customer Service Representative
Rebecca recently moved to the Wessington Springs area with her family. Originally from Dell Rapids, SD, she attended college in Sioux Falls. Upon earning her Business Administration degree from the University of Sioux Falls, she worked for a local bank in Sioux Falls for nearly five years. Shortly after being married to her husband in 2008, they made their home in Brandt, SD, and she began working for a property management company in Gary, SD.
After spending four years in the northeast area of South Dakota, Rebecca’s husband brought them to Wessington Springs, SD in February 2013. Rebecca started working for the Krohmer Agency in August 2013. She is currently in the process of obtaining her Life and Health license.
Rebecca enjoys spending time with her family and friends, boating, snow skiing, going for walks and light jogs. In addition, she enjoys meeting new friends and looks forward to becoming an active member of the community.
Rebecca and her husband Craig have two children, Aunnika (2), Ethan (3 months) and their energized German Shorthaired Pointer Trigger (4).
Lindsey Weich joined Krohmer Agency in August of 2006. She is licensed in property and casualty as well as health and life insurance. Lindsey specializes in helping customers with their commercial insurance needs.
Lindsey enjoys running, biking, following MVP Titan activities and volunteering in the community. She is an active member of Plankinton United Methodist Church where she teaches Sunday School and leads a Women's Bible Study. She is also a member of the Plankinton Service Club and helps plan many events including Plankinton Pheasant Fest and Hometown Christmas events. Lindsey is also on the board of directors for the non-profit organization Blessings Repeated.
Lindsey lives in Plankinton with her husband Travis. They have three children Mariah, Maddox & Mataya.
Keara Hohn joined the agency in August 2014. Keara is a licensed agent in property, casualty, life & health.
Keara is active in the United Methodist Church where she teaches Sunday school and participates in helping with the backpack blessings program and is on the Board of Directors for Blessings Repeated. Keara is a huge sports fan; she enjoys watching the Kansas Jayhawks, Dallas Cowboys, Kansas City Royals, and Dale Earnhardt Jr.!!! In her spare time she likes camping, running and reading. Keara and her husband Dustin live in Plankinton with their fur babies Jake, Sam & Milo.
White Lake Office
Jill Grohs joined Krohmer Agency in 2008. She is a licensed property and casualty and life and health insurance agent. She enjoys building lasting relationships with her customers and helping them with all their insurance needs.
In Jill’s spare time, she enjoys spending time with her daughter Delsie. They enjoy traveling, camping, gardening, spending time at the lake, baseball games, or just spending time with family. She is a member of the United Methodist Church, the secretary of the Plankinton Service Club, and a member of the White Lake Commercial Club where she enjoys volunteering in the communities.
